Quest’anno Lecce me la sto godendo veramente tanto. I 35 minuti che separano la Masseria dalla città aiutano nelle mie andate e ritorno.
Ci vado a pranzo, a cena, a fare un giro di shopping, o semplicemente a respirarne l’atmosfera che mi piace tantissimo.
È perché non andarci anche per un brunch? iL’ideale tra due giri visto che qui i negozi nel pomeriggio, non tutti, ma molti, chiudono, e se si va a pranzo si rischia di dimezzare il piacere dell’uscita. Dimezzarlo nel senso del niente shopping!
E il brunch ha un senso e si inserisce bene nei ritmi lenti pugliesi. Ritmi scanditi da mattinate che durano in eterno, con risvegli tardivi, perché le serate hanno, anch’esse, ritmi salentini, gli aperitivi spingono in là le cene e alla fine non si va mai a letto presto!
Poi il brunch ha un tocco internazionale che ben si addice a questa città invasa da un bel turismo che arriva da tutto il mondo. E sorprendentemente invasa anche da nuovi abitanti che vengono da ogni dove e vi eleggono domicilio. Un vero mondo expat in piena regola. Una città in cui si respirano grandi confini che proiettano in giro per il mondo.
E allora brunch sia, dentro o fuori le mura
Filiera, che ormai è diventato uno dei mieipostilreferiti che sia per pranzo o per cena, ha un suo perché per il brunch!
Filiera è uno dei progetti più interessanti della scena gastronomica leccese degli ultimi anni. Si trova in Corte dei Genovesi, nel cuore del centro storico, già di per sé un posto pieno di charme. Un focus particolare sulla valorizzazione delle materie prime e della filiera produttiva. Da qui il nome stesso. Tutti i prodotti sono presentati e “tracciati”. I vini sono ottimi e il caffè eccellente. Pane e viennoiseries assolutamente eccelse. L’atmosfera è deliziosa, contemporanea e molto curata.
Il servizio veramente top, il sorriso di Chiara, Gabriel e tutto lo staff è quello che vorremmo sempre trovare nella ristorazione.
Un locale che potrebbe trovarsi ovunque nel mondo, nei vicoli del Marais, nel cuore di Notting Hill, a Nolita a New York e nel mio adorato Mile End a Montreal
Branci uno degli indirizzi più apprezzati per la colazione e il brunch. Il locale, situato in via Oberdan, fuori dalla città vecchia ma comunque a due passi e in una zona moderna con molti negozi. Propone un’offerta che unisce sapori internazionali e ingredienti locali. Pancakes, avocado Toast, uova in tutte le salse. E poi dolci e dolcetti per chi al mattino ha bisogno di zuccheri.T
L’ambiente è informale e luminoso, con un’estetica moderna, un bel dehors e un servizio gradevole.
Doppiozero, uno dei locali più conosciuti del centro di Lecce E non solo per il brunch. Anche qui il quadro è carinissimo, sia dentro il locale che fuori. In pieno centro storico invita al ritmo dolce di questo incredibile Salento.
Il menù propone pancake, waffle, croissant e compagnia. Centrifugati e bevande e tante proposte dolci e salate ispitrate alla tradizione internazionale. Anche qui servizio sorridente, cosa non sempre scontata.
Intorno a tutti questi posticini negozi e negozietti da scoprire e riscoprire, ma anche semplicemente passeggiate con il naso all’insù perché i palazzi che fanno da cornice alle strade sono una delizia assoluta.

This year I have been enjoying Lecce more than ever. The 35-minute drive that separates the Masseria from the city certainly makes all these comings and goings easier.
I go there for lunch, for dinner, for a little shopping, or simply to soak up the atmosphere, which I absolutely love.
So why not go there for brunch as well?
It is the perfect option between two shopping trips, considering that here many shops, not all of them, but quite a few, close in the afternoon, and going out for lunch risks cutting the pleasure of the outing in half. By cutting it in half, I mean no shopping at all!
And brunch makes perfect sense here, fitting beautifully into the slow rhythm of life in Puglia. Rhythms shaped by mornings that seem to last forever, with late wake-ups because evenings, too, move at the leisurely pace of Salento. Aperitifs stretch into dinner, and in the end no one ever goes to bed early!
Brunch also carries an international flair that suits this city perfectly, now bustling with visitors from all over the world. And, quite surprisingly, it is also filled with new residents arriving from every corner of the globe and choosing to settle here. A true expat world in every sense of the word. A city with broad horizons and an outlook that extends far beyond its own borders.
So, brunch it is, whether inside or outside the city walls.
Filiera, which has now become one of my favourite places for both lunch and dinner, is also an excellent choice for brunch.
Filiera is one of the most interesting projects on Lecce’s food scene in recent years. It is located in Corte dei Genovesi, in the heart of the historic centre, a place that is already charming in its own right. Particular attention is given to showcasing ingredients and celebrating the entire production chain — hence the name itself. Every product is presented and carefully traced back to its origins. The wines are excellent, the coffee is outstanding, and the bread and viennoiseries are simply exceptional. The atmosphere is delightful, contemporary and beautifully curated.
And the service is truly outstanding. Not to mention the smiles of Chiara, Gabriel and the entire team embody exactly what we would always hope to find in hospitality.
It is the kind of place that could be found anywhere in the world: along the narrow streets of the Marais, in the heart of Notting Hill, in Nolita in New York, or in my beloved Mile End in Montreal.
Branci is one of the city’s best-loved addresses for breakfast and brunch. Located on Via Oberdan, just outside the old town but still only a short walk away, it sits in a more contemporary neighbourhood filled with shops. Its menu combines international flavours with local ingredients: pancakes, avocado toast and eggs prepared in every possible way. And, of course, there are cakes and pastries for those who need a little sugar to start the day.
The atmosphere is bright and informal, with a modern aesthetic, a lovely outdoor seating area and warm, welcoming service.
Doppiozero is one of the best-known spots in the centre of Lecce, and not only because of its brunch offering. Once again, the setting is absolutely charming, both indoors and outside. Right in the heart of the old town, it invites visitors to embrace the gentle pace of this extraordinary corner of Salento.
The menu features pancakes, waffles, croissants and much more, along with juices, coffee and a wide selection of sweet and savoury dishes inspired by international traditions. Here, too, the service comes with a smile — something that should never be taken for granted.
Surrounding all these little places are boutiques and shops waiting to be discovered and rediscovered, but also streets that simply invite you to wander with your eyes turned upward, admiring the magnificent buildings that frame them.
